In summer it is nice though, and stays a little cooler than downtown Portland.

Today I am back over in the Cedar Mills Library, since I don't have my Multnomah County library card yet. After lunch with Kim downtown, I came up here. It is currently 51F here with a slight sprinkling of rain starting. Should be dry again in a couple day.

A few days ago I walked over to the Mt. Hood Community College campus. I spent 2 years in school there. Much has changed, but old memories still remain.

At first I felt a little lost, but then I came upon a spot I clearly remembered. It was where I had gone out there and watched a speech by then President Jimmy Carter in the late 70's. He was the first President I had seen in person! A helicopter brought him in, and Iranian students hiding their faces were demonstrating against the Shaw of Iran.

I finally found the lake that they made by damming up the local creek. I once drove a car across that dam! But if I were to try it now, I would run into a fence. I now must give up any hope of wetting a line in that trout stocked pond, as fishing is now limited to those under 17. Well, that's how I always thought it should be.

I found the basketball court with the dome shaped roof. It is a paraboloid shaped roof which gives an interesting echoic effect at its center. They have wisely covered much of the ceiling with acoustic tile.

There used to be tables and chairs on the east side where students could sit. But now it's all basketball floor. That's were I used to sit and talk with Greta and Susan in those pleasant times.

The time has come
When I go see my darling love.

But you come not. - AA

I went to the corner of Kane Dr. and Stark St. to look for the stone mile post marker for mile 14 from Portland. It was there back in 1969 when I checked. This were set down every mile along Stark about 150 years ago. Stark led to the Stark St. Ferry, which was the only way to cross the Willamette River back then, before they built the bridges in Portland. The Community College has put up a sign at that corner and surrounded it with rocks and other landscaping. But no sign of the historic mile stone. You would think that the administrators of a college of all people would have some respect for history!

AA Oregon has volcanoes, and Calif. has its earthquakes.I have not felt anything yet. Seems Treb wants to jump in posting so I might as well let him. I know some posters left like Sam.I know over 23 years some must have died.I feel like I lost a friend. Bert

Sad to see Sam go.

Sam emails me.I told him being a teacher he had a lot to lose by staying and being "bad mouthed" Like the hate mongers having me in prison, not paying bills etc. They don't mention I ran for mayor of my home town. That I make full page adds in news papers. Lies said over and over about me is best they can do. Bert

Yes, the big lie told often enough becomes accepted like gospel!

I found out Painius is alive and well editing some Wikipedia sites. He apparently just no longer wants to post here.

Overcast here in Gresham as of 1:30 PM. Was misting in the AM. Now 60F headed for a possible 67F later. The Oregon grapes are starting to ripen!

AA still cool and cloudy It has not been a May that you could go to the beach. Now That I have no catheter I can wear a bathing suit, and go swimming with the valley girls WOW Still can't find my M&M add in the Register. When I call I'm on hold.See how 5,000 flyers do? TreBert

Maybe you sould advertise on Craigslist. That's were all the ads are nowadays.

Heavily overcast here in Gresham, but so far it has stayed dry. 66F now at 12:30 PM on it's way to 70F.

Last night was Dave Letterman's last broadcast. Stop crying, Saul. Luckily I didn't yet have a TV in my apartment to watch it.

Tip: Make sure whatever noncompete agreement you sign when you sell does NOT extend to Hawaii!

Another cloudy day here in Gresham. Had showers yesterday and they are still possible today. Temp only 59F as of 12:30 here in Gresham. Might get over 60F if only the sun would come out. Yesterday it didn't and the temp stayed under 60F. Warmer weather and sunshine is expected later in the week..

Went downtown to the clinic yesterday. The Rose Festival Fun Center has opened in Waterfront Park. The Multnomah County Fair starts today in Oaks Park.

Bought some vegetables that I don't usually see in the store at the Farmers Market outside outside the library today. Price was good.

Because I chased him out of here. He ran away like a scalded dawg!
Some people just can't handle the truth.

Harlow = Strategic Writer. Therefore "Truth" = "Lies"

Do you remember him, BJ? I used to go round and round with him.
He believed in all sorts of ****ed up stuff too.

I finally was able to drag him out into the sunlight and shove a stake
through him and his ideas. He went away to re-think his life after I
schooled him. I'm sure he's a better person for it.

I enjoyed most of Paine's posts to this group, though he didn't always agree with me. And I didn't like some of his critiques of my poetry!

Bert, I'm sure you know what you're doing in business.

Here it is again, a Sunday morning. I see lots of cars parked down the street outside the church, but we few are gathered here again at the temple of knowledge.

A pall seems to hang over Gresham, blocking out the sun until the holiday weekend is over. Right now it's cloudy and 56F as of 10:30 AM. Still weathermen promise sunny skies and warmer temperatures later this week.

I went to the corner of Kane Dr. and Stark St. to look for the stone mile post marker for mile 14 from Portland. It was there back in 1969 when I checked. All my kids live in Massachusetts and they would love to visit me in Hawaii.Leaving MA. my daughter said saved my life 9feet of snow WOW. Weather today in LA is great warm sunny and no wind. Will be off to Huntington Beach as soon as I finish up a little business. Stayed in my van the last 5 days. Redid its M&M sighs. Bert

Warmer weather and sunshine is expected later in the week.

AA You always gave me good advice. The offer to buy M&M was made by this corporate lawyer that wanted me to put it puplic and sell shares. I put him off,but when I sign papers I will have a lawyer with me.I have not told my kids yet. At 87 see how my health goes.So far so good. Bert

AA Just about the same weather here at 8;30 Been cloudy each morning for the month of May. My kids tell me Boston is Hot,and cold Doing work on van to keep busy.Wish I knew how to get M&M on Craigslist better. I don't feel like riding out to Huntington Beach, but don't know how to get out of that dinner invite. to cold to sail, and to windy to paint. I'm still afraid of the freeways. If I crack up the van its like losing your home. AA are you still thinking of a car.If you had a car I could set you up in a small business that is light work, and would add $$$$$ to your SS check. It just needs flyers and a cross street directory to drum up work.No need to worry about taxes. Think like a GOPer. Getting out gives you a chance to meet people(ladies) Think about it. Bert

Sunny here in Gresham this morning, but still lots of clouds. 61F now at 11:15 AM, but can only hope for 68F later.

Getting a car means a lot of additional expense: gas, oil, insurance, DEQ and licensing, repairs and maintenance, tires, and getting a driver's license. Believe me I am just barely scraping by now. I need to find an additional source of income before I can afford a car. I am thinking of getting back into the selling on eBay business!

Yesterday I bought a Dell laptop!

AA That is great.M&M I'm trying to get on Craigslist, and I'm stumbling again(need to be signed in and to stupid to even do that} If I can help you add away bto add to your monthly SS let me know.I have always added to mine over the last 22 years. A car can be used for business.Van's insurance gas cost twice as a car,but it still good for business with its signs, and its just about the last of the dinasours and it stands out. Its even adds to my popularity. Bert
