He gained a BSc in maths and physics at Imperial College, London and started a PhD in infra-red astronomy, during which he designed and built a zodiacal light observatory on the site of what is now the huge Observatory del Tiede in Tenerife. He then dropped out to form Queen. He was awarded an honory Doctorate of Science in November 2002 by Hertfordshire University. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_May http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006190/bio http://www.pemcom.demon.co.uk/queen/physics.html http://www.hertfordshire.co.uk/pages...ews.asp?id=132 -- Alan J.
