Title of article is "Film director researching Gus Grissom documentary" This
Indicates that it's not a movie, but a *documentary*.

....Yeah, and Eastabrook comes across like both "scott" and LaToilet in
his evasion of specific questions, as well as the fact that he's
clearly admitted his agenda with this film. This isn't going to be a
tribute documentary, it's a back-door CT "expose", and anyone who
chooses to appear in this film and relate their memories are going to
find themselves quoted out of context to provide "credible" reports to
back up "scott's" insane claims.

He'd probably be better off just financing a snuff flick featuring
LaDouchebagge...

Something about the study of history is that everything subsequent to
an event becomes part of that event's history. The Grissom family
feels that there was something wrong with the events surrounding the
fire and has brought it to the attention of the public. I see no reason
that it should net be addressed in the documentary. To do otherwise
would be telling a one-sided story. How the family was treated, and
their subsequent theories, is now part of the Apollo 1 story, like it
or not. Had the agencies involved done a little more to address the
concerns of the families immediately following the fire, the hostility
might not be there. Maybe people need to know that part too.

What they *have not done* is provide any verifiable, relevant evidence that
shows what happened was anything other than an accident. "scott" has
provided a few interesting items, but when asked to show in clear,
unambiguous terms how it supports his claims of wrongdoing, he instead
provides insults. We are expected to just take their word for it, and that's
not how it works.

To date, *not one person* who has claimed that the events of Apollo 1 was
anything but an accident has provided any solid evidence that has survived
close examination. They *have* shown that, without exception, they do not
know the most elementary mathematics, engineering, or even the basics of the
scientific method. They do not show even what limited understanding would be
apparent to a regular watcher of "CSI", and when asked to support their
findings, resort to insults.

In fact, they *universally* demonstrate that they don't even believe their
own claims, since if they really believed a crime had been committed, they'd
be able to provide verifiable information about the law enforcement
personnel they contacted to report the crime. Either they are lying, since
they don't believe what they are saying, or they are so irresponsible by not
reporting a crime that they cannot be trusted.

"Something about the study of history is that everything subsequent to
an event becomes part of that event's history."

Following that logic, to be a complete history, any retelling of the
Apollo Program must also include that it was a hoax because a few
profit +/- fame seeking, undereducated individuals decided one day that
they knew better.

The problem I have with Estabrook's "Gus", which he openly admits to on
collectSPACE, is that he isn't trying to document established opposing
studies, but rather introduce a debate where it didn't exist before,
without any substantiated (peer-reviewed) evidence to justify doing so.

Its a shame really, because a well produced, historically honest
documentary that celebrated Gus Grissom's life would be very welcome.
Too many people confuse the fictional "Right Stuff" with the real man.
Unfortunately, it appears the film "Gus" will only serve to further
separate the hero from the legacy he richly deserves.
