Pre-publication release of Quasars.Org catalogue
Various updates, tidyups and small fixes have been done on the Master
radio/xray/optical overlays catalogue on ftp://quasars.org . It is 20Mb zipped, and displays 500,779 optical objects which are associated to xray/radio detections or are known quasars. The optical objects are sourced from the APM and USNO-A optical catalogues. Associations presented a ROSAT HRI: 13,240 optical associations out of 56,398 astrometrically unique xray detections ROSAT RASS: 30,711 / 124,730 xray ROSAT PSPC: 30,233 / 102,005 xray WGA (PSPC): 19,528 / 88,578 xray FIRST: 155,181 / 781,667 radio, plus 11,531 double radio lobes. NVSS: 242,870 / 1,810,664 radio, plus 8878 double lobes. SUMSS: 27,593 / 134,865 radio, plus 1166 double lobes. These associations yield 100,345 good quasar candidates, with calculated percentage of being a QSO displayed for each object. Also 48,215 catalogued QSOs are displayed (regardless of radio or xray detection) which are optically found on the APM and/or the USNO-A. On this same site there is also the Free-Lunch catalogue which gives this information concisely, plus a couple of subset catalogues. A readme file is present, plus sample extract files for quick browsing. The latest version of every radio/x-ray catalogue (excluding XMM1 and ChaMP which have been used as a validation check) has been used in this Quasars.org catalogue, which is near submission. ftp://quasars.org Eric Flesch Wellington, New Zealand |
