Odd that you, chrisbcritter (and, I suspect, peterson) are all of British origin. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Oh no, how could you, how terrible that you would call me British instead of Irish !!!!.

"British" refers to citizens of the UK and Ireland. Ireland is one of the British Isles, and Northern Ireland is part of the UK, therefore "British.."

People who are either English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh are all British, just as people who are either English, French, German, Italian, etc, are all European.

Hope that helps.

I have to laugh, not even the most hapless Klu Klux Klan member wouldn't think of going into Harlem or Compton in full regalia to tell the inhabitants what his dumb views were so this is how I look at your dumb views and can only imagine how you would manage in not only the nationalist Falls Rd district of Belfast but the Loyalists Shankill Rd who take their British citizenship seriously.

It is not you, you are fine and have found your intellectual stature, such as it is, among others here who do not operate at the lowest intellectual level but rather at a dysfunctional level.

Incorrect.

Now, provide the answer to this, which you were told to answer earlier:

Can you give us a physical or cultural characteristic of Irish
citizens that distinguishes them unambiguously from British subjects?

There are no British subjects. The term is British citizens.

Irish people - especially in the north claim to be able to tell Catholics
from Protestants at a glance. However even without knowing my name Irish
people often assume I'm an Irish Catholic and I'm actually an English
ex-Protestant (now agnostic).

The other guy can be excused however you are a different matter as the only people who still insist the 'British Isles' is a geographic entity are academics who will seemingly cannibalize the English language to make the term work. The Irish countryside and British countryside are two distinct geographical areas under different sovereign States yet you would find yourself agreeing with the other guy that Irish citizens born on the geographical area of Ireland are also British.

Agnostic indeed !, is this what they call a person unable to like anything in their own life or the greater Life of existence through which you pass from child to adult ?.

Well, if it isn't two sticks in the ground and the stopwatch guy who thinks a rotating celestial sphere proves the Earth turns once in 23 hours 56 minutes 04 seconds.

Well... doesn't it? It certainly proves *something*... what could it possibly be?

23 56 04, almost exactly, almost like clockwork :)

Timekeeping is built around the Earth's rotation and specifically the 24 hour system and the 360 degree Lat/Long system so projecting the Earth's rotation directly into a rotating celestial sphere and the circumpolar return of a star in 23 hours 56 minutes was a catastrophic act based on a rash judgment a few centuries ago or where it is today as an act of pure unneeded vandalism.

If it's that important to you then you should go there and try to prove Gerald right!

No, YOU are the person who declared that Gerald was *incorrect*.

So, prove it!
