Has anyone found out why this bozo persists in posting this stupid
message every month or so?

Has anyone found out why other, normally rational, people persist
in responding to this bozo?

In sci.astro.amateur his post generated five responses within several
hours. He also posted to sci.astro at the same time, and got no
responses within the same time period.

Don't feed the trolls !!!

Simple: He is generating traffic for his various websites so he can sell the
domains. He posts periodically under different nyms to many groups, always
the same question, and never any followups.
Google is your friend.

I'd say your (accurate) characterization of the poster answers your own
question!

Equally an accurate characterization of responders (mea culpa).
