Ironic that the 747 easily outsold the A380 last year. Last I heard, Airbus
had to sell 420 A380s just to make a profit. That number is about a year
old. If you told me it's up to 450 or 500 now, I would not be surprised. Now
if the program doesn't make a profit, Airbus doesn't have to pay back the
money it borrowed from Euro-govs for A380 development. Not sure what the
trigger is on that but it will surely create another WTO tussle if it
happens.

Airbus says they are number 1 on every continent but I wonder how many
Antarctica airlines are flying Airpus planes.

Europeans will be Europeans...they continue to spend money on products that
have little to no marketable value.

Take French films for instance...the French make about 30 films a year, all
gov subsidized. The only reason the US has never filed a WTO complaint is
because French films are almost never seen outside of France or Belgium,
i.e. they are not a threat to Hollywood because virtually no one watches
them.

Norbit is a big hit in Portugal though. I guess the Portuguese are into all
that intellectual kind of humor? If you look at international box office, US
films are typically #1 in about 75% of the world's theaters. You virtually
never see a European film in US mainstream theaters. Even March of the
Penguins had to be stripped of its goofy French dialogue before it could be
shown.
