The kids are in high school.
And you can figure out exactly how scathing some of their comments can be with just that information. The antics, the postings of Min and Darla are hilarious. Some of the more "entertaining" are posted on bulletin boards for many to read ---the problem is that sometimes that causes congestion and can create a noise problem as the students are reading some of the tidbits out loud to each other!! They especially "love" that elderly alien tidbit. What is interesting is that we've also managed to have discussions regarding the habit Min has of spamming the NewsGroups but hiding so desperately behind the Anonymous ReMailer so he can not be challenged or confronted. I've shared with them that he does such as many ISP's have bounced him for exactly what he is doing... and that leads into a lot of discussion. As for Darla... I am amazed at the opinions of these kids about that person. ---Mac ************************************************** *********************** On Wed, 07 Jan 2004 21:58:20 GMT, "What?!" wrote: Its all good. 8`) What ages are your students? My autoranging ding-a-ling detector is going off scale (!). oc ****************** ***************** I can not believe how much fun this Darla has provided my classes. Just as that wonderful anonymous ReMailer, Min, and his antics, sometimes I print out the babbling of him AND ALSO this Darla creature and take it in to share with my students. You should hear them laughing about these characters... At least they are good for some cheap entertainment. Oh yes, you should hear the students performing a sort of Reader's Theater by cobbling together several of the "speeches" of this Darla creature. So far we've actually had teachers and other students walking by stop and listen and join in the laughter. ---Mac |
