last nighet i draged my 19in dob out to the front of this traler park. I
read did think anyone world stao and avave a look see, but it was a test of
of me and how well i could do.
by the time i was set up, i was tired, so i need to rebuld my powers some
befor i male the 4 mile lng walk.
i had talen a few ep's out so i could test them, the 2in telveu is not for
this scope.

the 25mm was awesome in its view of the moon, the 7mm tel vel gave me real
clost ups of the foon, look like i was titting on the surface with it. the
ortho gave good close ups too, the no named 13mm gave good viweses.by the
tinw i ahd sent about 2 hours out there i was dead tird so i came in. got to
rebild by powers up befor malinke that 4 mile walk.

There are those who believe that life here, began out there, far across the
universe, with tribes of humans, who may have been the forefathers of the
Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. Some believe that they may yet be
brothers of man, who even now fight to survive, somewhere beyond the
heavens.

Dear Starlord,

Congratulations! Out of curiosity, what is the focal length or f-ratio of this
Dob? It's interesting that the aperture is almost identical to one of William
Herschel's most productive reflectors at around 18.7" -- that was a speculum
metal mirror, of course, and we see various views about what size of modern
model might be roughly equivalent (with optical quality varying now as then,
of course).

Let's see, if you scope were around f/4.5, then the 7mm tel would give
something like 300X. It sounds like you may have had quite good seeing.
With my 20cm f/6 Dob and 7.5mm EP plus 2X Barlow, I could go up to 320X --
but in the Sacramento Valley of California, that might call for really nice
seeing.

Best,

Margo
