Could someone point me to a link explaining galaxy/solar system rotation,
specifically the initial stages of rotaion, aimed at a beginner if possible.

Many thanks

http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/lin...tion_ss_6.html

Has a little as part of their evolution of the solar system tour.

Basically, any condensing cloud of gas will start to rotate, provided
there is some movememnt, and because of the rotations it will flatten out.
