As you all know, OM (Bob Mosely) has long had some serious health
issues and has been hospitalized numerous times. This past year he has
been in and out of the hospital because of his health. His problems
have included: chronic vomiting syndrome, obesity related diabetes,
gastroenteritis, skin ailments, IBS, poor blood circulation, and
frequent nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. As you also know, he lost a
leg several years ago due to gangrene, and has had to battle the
reemergence of gangrenous legions on his lower extremities. In
addition, because he has been on state-funded disability for over a
decade, as well as welfare and other taxpayer-funded financial
support, he is rather poor and lives with relatives. As a result, he
has not accessed the internet as much as he wants. OM isn’t the kind
of person who would ask you to pray for him, but please do.

Well, there's some good news from OM. As you all know, he has Chronic
Vomiting Syndrome, and as you can guess, vomit is bad for your teeth
(not to mention your clothes, hygiene, lovelife, etc.), and OM's teeth
have generally rotted out over the years. Fortunately, he is going to
be able to keep the ones that he has a little longer before they too
have to be removed and replaced with taxpayer-supplied dentures, and
so he's not been reduced to eating only soft foods... yet!

In addition, as you saw from his previous messages, he tends to ramble
on incoherently a bit these days, but after being sent to the psych
hospital for a few days of evaluation, his shrinks determined that
several of his medications in combination were causing dementia-like
symptoms and it was not actual mental illness. At least not anything
new that they can detect. The adjustment to his meds has had an added
benefit, which is better control of his bodily functions and so he was
able to have the catheter removed. Considering that this was a cause
of his numerous urinary tract infections over the years, it's a
welcome development.

So maybe your prayers have been answered and OM's health is getting
better. His body and mind may be failing, but he's still kicking!

Perfect example of why this NG and usenet in general has gone to hell.
