Google Scholar citations
Does anyone know any way to get a response from a human at Google
Citations? Some things don't work correctly and, contrary to the documentation, edited changes are automatically overwritten. Several months ago, I did get a response from a human, but got the answer I needed only after a few iterations. That was for another problem. Now, with a new problem, I don't get any response at all. The problem now is that a "Scholar article" which was once correctly treated apparently no longer exists and for the corresponding entry an article with a similar name (which has its own entry) is substituted. (Again, manually removing this bogus substitution gets overwritten by an automatic update.) With ADS, one can send an email and get a quick response from a human who quickly corrects the problem. Google Citations might be ahead of ADS in quantity (even of real citations), but still has a long way to go in terms of quality. Considering that the necessary budget is just a negligible fraction of Google's entire budget (and could easily be much more than that of ADS) but Google Citations is a high-prestige product, it is strange that this isn't taken more seriously by Google. |
