Moon features GIS database
Looking for a (GIS) database of lunar features. Locations of craters, mares, highland areas, rilles, rays etc. Mainly any freely available on the net. Any level of sophistication of database of interest. As it is to be used in a custom made computer program, it need not to convert to any specific standard. Location coordinates, (+height), radius (crater), type of feature, could do. Would also be interested in the same for the Earth and Mars. Other planets, other solar system bodies could also be of interest. See this:

Moon features GIS database
The planetarynames site is a very good resource for craters and most mares! However for rilles and lineations, the supplied 'radius' also for all other features than craters is not very useful when using in a GIS drawing application! Anyway, thanks for the links, Bjørn Sørheim "Thomas L Denslinger" wrote: http://geonames.usgs.gov/links.html http://planetarynames.wr.usgs.gov/ http://www.lpi.usra.edu/research/lunar_orbiter/ " Bjørn Sørheim " wrote in message ... Bjorn; if you haven't explored the USGS website before, set aside some time each day for a week or more and explore it. Keep a journal.
