Default analysing CCD images

I am interested to know what other astronomers are using to analyse
their images. I have been using Charon for astrometry but it is too
tedious to process more than a few images. I tried using PinPoint but
so many problems with bizarre error messages. I tried using
Astrometrica but it seems unable to recognise anything and cannot save
data already input (such as known asteroid numbers). Any one doing
serious analysis? This is hardly rocket science so there must be some
software that can do the slog for me.

TIA

You might want to look at ....

How about...

IRAF (http://star-www.rl.ac.uk/iraf/web/iraf-homepage.html ... I use this
for my PhD)

or

FTOOLS (http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/lheasof...ols_intro.html)

I'd imagine that IRAF would have something that can help you out.

Cheers,
John
