Proximity boots
Hi,
A brief overview of zero gravity footwear for use on metal surfaces. The boot consists of a variable magnet with a sensor which determines the distance from the surface beneath the boot. The magnetic force increases with boot distance from the surface and is calibrated to 1 Earth gravity, so that when the boot is in contact with the surface it is at its weakest. This allows the user to walk in comfort across the surface. Now all we have to do is build a couple of space elevators so we can get enough metal up there to make the boots practical.
