Titan will be destroyed!
While showing a group of primary school kids the delights of Saturn
the other night, I pointed out that the 'star' to the edge of the field of view was in fact Titan. I then explained to them that Huygens would be parachuting down to the surface of Titan. One of the group asked what would eventually happen to it, to which I replied that it would probably ultimately be destroyed. One of the other kids then piped up "Awwww..... I like Titan!" -- Pete http://www.digitalsky.org.uk |

I took my telescope to let a group of school peep through it, together with a short introduction into astronomy. I stood way outside the building, but it was overcast, so I let them look at a sheet of paper with a letter on it in the distance, sticked to the building. One of them looked through the scope, saw and identified the letter, and walked back to the building. Then suddenly he saw the sheet of paper hanging with the letter on it and shouted in amazement: "Hey, here's a sheet of paper with the same letter on it I just saw through the telescope!" Lol - they're priceless aren't they. -- Pete http://www.digitalsky.org.uk Global Projects - http://www.globalobservers.net |
