Aperture Does NOT Rule
I used to think that aperture rules. Now I say portability rules! I use my
4" refractor mounted on a Unistar altaz mount and wood tripod all the time, while my 8" scope gathers dust. See..aperture does not always rule! It is always a compromise between aperture, portabiity and cost.... jon |

As they say, the best scope is the one you use the most!

I hope you and your 4" refractor are very happy together. If this is what makes you happy, go for it. For the rest of us who want to see something when we look through our telescopes, we need more aperture. For me it's, "Give me aperture or give me/////////////// Sorry about that, someone already used this line a few years ago. Aperture still rules! Al |
