Einstein’s mathematical excellence and Newton’s insightful perception
of mass- energy inter conversion (E=mc2)

Einstein [1] derived L =mc2 (Light energy
mass inter conversion equation) and speculated E =mc2 in Sep 1905 .
But its importance was truly understood in 1920s i.e. at least after
15 years, when NUCLEAR REACTIONS were discovered. Reference of
Einstein’s paper is
[1] Einstein, A., Annalen der Physik 18, 639 (1905).

It pertinent to mention that in derivation of L =mc2 Einstein used an
equation of relativistic form of light energy from his June 1905
paper known as Special Theory of Relativity.
(Reference papers at website given below)

Sir Isaac Newton’s perception, two centuries
before Einstein.

Einstein was not aware of the fact that, the this equation had been
perceived by Newton [1642-1727] in 1704
Newton [2] has quoted in his book ‘Opticks’ in 1704 that
"Gross bodies and light are convertible into one another...",

[ 2 ] Sir Isaac Newton, Opticks, pp. CVX (1704; reprinted by Dover
Publications, Inc., New York, 1952).
This reflects importance of Newton’s contribution in science.

Thus Einstein simply derived equation (L =mc2) for Newton’s 200 years
old perception.
Then from ∆L =∆mc2 Einstein speculated ∆E =∆mc2
Since past over 100 years E=mc2 is being used globally without any
exception, however scopes of improvement in every theory always
persist.
