Help Mounting a Robofocuser to a JMI NGF-C

Unfortunately, Robofocus (Observadome) do not provide any pictures for
mounting their focuser to the NGF-C (R&P focuser). I'm temporarily stuck at
step 4.

Step 4: Use 1/16 hex key wrench to loosen the two set screws holding the
shaft far bearings at both ends. Pulling the side with the remaining focus
knob wheel, slide the jack shaft out and away from the focuser. Watch that
the brass bearings on each end do not fall away and get lost.

Looking at it now for step 4 or so, I have a glimmer of idea what step 4*
might mean. I just may need to unloosen some screws on the "jack shaft"
further. It's not quite clear what the so-called jack shaft is. Are they
talking about the shaft that goes between the two focus knobs, or the block
in which it goes through? I do have two pictures I took of the two parts,
and one RF provided, which shows the area of interest.

It's not observadome. It's Tech Innovations. Anyway, I figured out how to
get the shaft out, so the new one can go in. There are two cylindirical
bearings at either end of where the shaft goes through the NNGF block. The
holes in them are too small for the shaft. They do mention they provide a
replacement. I didn't get one. I got a black ring that won't fit where
either bearing is located, and is not mentioned in the instructions. It also
looks like two replacement bearings should have been replaced. Well, maybe
not. It looks like the RF doesn't need to be secured at the other end. It
gets glued onto the NFG on one side. I have my doubts about their
instructions and the completness of this kit.

This is pretty much under control now. I've cleared up the mystery of some
of the instructions, and found that some simple parts weren't sent to me.
