Default Apollo 14 LRO photo

In the new Apollo 14 LRO photo, there two trails left by the
astronauts, a dark one to the left (to the ALSEP) and a longer,
lighter one to the right. This is the mission where they pulled the
buggy.

1. Is the reason these trails are visible due to the buggy?

2. Why is the one to the left darker? Did they go to the left first,
taking the buggy both ways on the first EVA and then go to the right
on the second EVA but didn't bring the buggy back?

Perhaps their robotics did as much as they could, and PhotoShop did
everything else. What about all the other LRO science?
