ASTRO: The real NGC 1977
I was working on this one when I posted NGC 2024, the Flame Nebula.
Somehow my brain cross wired so I posted it as NGC 1977. Anyway here is the real NGC 1977. I'm not sure why the northern parts are a different blue than the southern. Might have something to do with conditions. I lost one frame each from my LRGB series due to clouds making them too fuzzy to use so am running with a third less color data than usual. All sub frames were dimmed to some extent by clouds, some more than others. That may have something to do with the color balance changing across the image. This has been the worst winter for clouds anyone up here can remember. Of course it is all my new observatory's fault they tell me. 14" LX200R@f/10, L=5x5' RGB=2x5' all binned 2x2, STL-11000M, Paramount ME Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |
