Default Coffee cup galaxies

While making a cuppa,I stirred briskly before adding the milk. I was
bemused by the extraordinary resemblence to galaxies which the
resulting swirl produced, with arms thrown out and retarded. As the
rotation slowed, the pattern changed shape with an uncanny likeness to
photos of aging galaxies.
The retarding by friction seemed to correspond to what similarly
appears a retarding of the rate of spin of the outer parts of
galaxies. Perhaps I would see the same effect by accellerating the
rotation of the center. Anyway, the similarity of the pictures is
intriguing when contemplating formation of galaxies.
