There was never a day like that, except in your fantasy world. Read a
little history.

policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

We dodged that bullet.

Never? I can think of one particular day. So it can't be the
only one. I mean it has to happen by accident a few times.

Galieo against the Catholic Church. Cupernicus and the powers-at-be.
How about Joseph Welch to McCarthy during the "Red Scare"?

Just because all your actions have political connotations, doesn't imply
that others don't strive for the truth for truth's sake.

It's latest pork producing way for states to compare penis sizes with

You mean like building near billion dollar sports stadiums for their
professional football or baseball teams that "threaten" to relocate to
another city/state that *will* build them a "state of the art" facility with
taxpayer dollars?

That should have been '[many|most] other such' - but you bring out an
important point; they don't fade away when they have substantive
public support and/or interest.

I was thinking 9/11 was the day politics stood still.
