Default Is Planet 9 really needed?

A new dwarf planet discovery might destroy the possibility of Planet 9's
existence. Ironically, this new planet was discovered while searching
for Planet 9. It doesn't fit into the model of planets that have been
discovered until now, which seemed to align up in a certain way. The new
planet doesn't fit the existing model, and in fact if this planet has to
exist, then Planet 9 can't exist, because P9 would've thrown this planet
out of the Solar System in this position.

In fact this Youtube video, attempts to model this new planet and how it
would be affected by Planet 9.

Do you think this is pretty definitive, and it ruins the chances of
having a Planet 9, or there is still a possibility for a Planet 9,
perhaps along a different axis?

New paper out by the original theorists of Planet Nine (Mike Brown et
al.) state that the new Kuiper Belt object 2013 SY99, does indeed fit
into the pattern required for Planet 9 to exist! They said that they
have produced a more complex computer model for distribution of objects
due to P9. The discoverers of the outlier KBO weren't aware of the
updated model.

The blog post is nice, but I couldn't find the new paper. The latest
paper I could find is linked from
http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2016ApJ...833L...3B
(There's also a preprint link.) I haven't looked, but I'd expect the
paper's introduction to explain the status as of the time of writing.

I don't know enough about this subject to have an opinion of my own.
