The best they can hope for is winning a wrongful death lawsuit. At the very least, it wasn't even a fair fight because only Zimmerman had a gun and was self motivated into using it.

Perhaps all future kids (5th grade on up) simply need to be packing heat, and fully trained and prepared to use it whenever they get profiled, stalked and confronted by another self proclaimed neighborhood cop. The parents of kids may need to be packing multiple weapons and always prepared to use those on anyone potentially capable of stalking or even looking at their kids.
