CNN: What's that, about $500 million cost per flight?

Eight more flights are required to finish construction of the station
and to fill it with supplies prior to the retirement of the shuttle
fleet in 2010.

Simple comparison: A tiny fraction of the cost of developing a single
missile at the taxpayer's expense.

Simple division: Q: How many stealth bombers go into $500 million? A:
~0.7 not counting fuel and maintenance and spares and all those high
ranking officers without whom the B1 would fly like a house brick.

Simple multiplication: 20 x B2 @ $737m = loads more money borrowed
from Saudi Arabia so they can fund more terrorism which can't be
fought with B1s.

Simple arithmetic: The ISS is cheap @ twice the price because research
in low gravity is already proving priceless.

Simple advice: Stop trolling your life away and Gurgle for benefits
iss. Add Life sciences, medicines and materials research only
possible in in microgravity to taste. The ISS can help take us to the
stars and cure disease. All a B1 can do is increase international
tension. It was built for yesterday's warfare against an enemy which
no longer exists except in the wet dreams of Pootin.

A better title would be "Democrat-Controlled Congress and Whitehouse
still sucking up money U.S. no longer has..."

They just voted to waste 1000x $500 miillion on a "stimulus
package."

At least B1 bombers can serve a useful purpose, ie dropping bombs on
terrorists and other enemies. If the B1 causes them to feel tense,
then it's serving another useful purpose.

Yep.
Sweeping the dirty floor, which the republicans and yuppies left.
Now this capitalistic country turn to socialism for a while,
to get on its legs again....
We´re liberals....until the curves do turn downward.

But - spaceflight has always shown us some of US´ proudest moments.
Outthere the curves are determined by gravity. Fortunately ;-)

Most Republicans are RINOs these days, and I suspect that many of the
yuppies are liberal Democrats. The Dems have run the Congress during
the last two years, when the trouble started and things have only
gotten worse since the inauguration.

BTW, socialism doesn't work, and capitalism is the sort of economic
system sensible people would prefer to use, if government would only
let them.

You want a new insight into lack of funds for space research? Can you
even imagine how much money is sloshing about in secret "offshore" and
Swiss bank accounts? The largest international business players could
be paying their taxes but why should they bother when they can hide
*our* trillions offshore? Household names like Halliburton, Exxon and
Shell are funnelling billions of billions offshore which could be used
to fix the recession and give back the African people their stolen,
countless billions. They wouldn't need "our" foreign aid if it wasn't
for *our* big business! 52000 Americans have secret bank accounts in
Switzerland alone. The same goes for rich Europeans. The super rich
don't pay their taxes. They get interest on *our* money. Do you think
the corrupt politicos are going to do anything about their friend's
offshore accounts, tax evasion and fraud? You're joking, right?
Capitalism eh? You gotta love it!
