From my back yard 28 miles south of Washington, DC. Configuration
test of my 6inch TOA150 with flattener at F/7.3 and 80mm guidescope.
Four 5 minute exposures with a Hutech modified Canon 5D mark II at
800ASA. Cropped and reduced 50%.

Nice picture Robert.
Did you reduce the size because of noise? Looks sharp enough to display it
at full size.

Yes, the light pollution from the D.C area decessitates more
streatching in processing which brings out more noise.

Have you tried a program like Neat Image? I've heard good things about
it reducing DSLR noise. They have a crippled demo. I've been thinking
of trying it as some of the top CCD imagers seem to swear by it as well
but so far haven't found the time. I did try Noise Ninja a few years
ago but it wiped out tiny distant galaxies as well apparently seeing
them as noise.
