Default ASTRO: NGC 1193

Back when I was taking Comet Holmes I took NGC 1193 when the comet
passed by it. I managed to store that in with the comet files and
forgot about them. Going through the hard drive these cloudy nights I
found the files. This is a very old (most say 4.5 billion years to 5
billion years) cluster. Rare to see one this old as they usually are
torn apart by tidal forces not long after birth. I couldn't find any
distance estimate for this guy. Taken binned 3x3 so at 1.5" of arc per
pixel. Not sure why I did that.

14" LX200R @ f/10, L=6x5', RGB=2x5', STL-11000XM, Paramount ME

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

I should have said "reliable distance estimate". There's no source for
this one given. It is seen in several viewing guides but no one
mentions the source. The papers on this guy are few and those I've been
able to to read in the physics library give no estimate of the distance
citing too many uncertainties. I wish these fellows would give a
source. The problem is this is a small cluster of apparent low mass and
density, it should have quickly been torn apart but hasn't. It's a real
puzzle. Maybe its mass is far greater than its luminosity indicates.
That could mean a much greater distance than normally thought. The
answer could lie in the distribution of dark matter about our galaxy.
This one is a puzzle still waiting for an answer it appears.
