Lightbulb Auction with Space Items and Memorabilia

Would you like to eat lunch with Star Trek's Bob Picardo, own Carl Sagan's own copy of his sensational paper on extraterrestrial life, or chat about space travel with a shuttle astronaut? All this and more will be sold in The Planetary Society's first ever on-line auction, running from November 2 until November 12, 2005. To raise funds for its programs, The Planetary Society is offering everything from autographed books to one-of-a-kind celebrity experiences. The final hour of the auction -- conducted on eBay -- will coincide with the Society's 25th Anniversary Gala Awards Dinner in Arcadia, California, where guests will be able to place on-line bids during the reception. At the dinner, director James Cameron and author Ray Bradbury will both receive special awards. For more information and a link to the auction, go to http://planetary.org.
