Sorry, but the gold standard for incompetence in space-related topics is
Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston, Texas. Johnson Space Center is in her district. Congresswoman Lee rocketed to the center of national attention in 1997, when (while a member of the House Committee on Science and Space) she asked a NASA scientist if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the flag that Neil Armstrong had left behind. The flag was, of course, planted on the moon. Here's to ya', Sheila! -- Stinger "Rand Simberg" wrote in message ... Can you imagine trying to shove the acres at GSFC into JPL? Eric |

I have no opinion about that. I'm not aware of it. But I'm quite certain that he didn't propose to physically move Goodard to JPL. He may have proposed to move some of its functions (and staff that were willing to move) there, but it's the first time I've heard of it. |

Right, not aware of it but you felt the need to comment anyway. No, he didn't want to physically move Goddard to JPL, but was certainly trying to steal GFSC's work. Senator Barbara Mikulski put a stop to Lewis's attempted theft. Eric |
