Basic human right
It is a basic human right that children be taught that the Earth turns
once in a day and 1461 times in 1461 days/4 years. I do not complain that in an era where empiricism directs the UN ,it promotes an ideology that is contrary to that known correspondence between the 24 hour day and daily rotation in attempting to obliterate the AM/PM rotational signatures with faulty right ascension reasoning. None of you are ashamed of what you are doing even when a way out is offered, not a cringing humiliation but something which students and interested adults can use. Human rights indeed !,the organization is breaking its own charter without even knowing it. |

I'm sure that children do get exposed to the oversimplified idea of the Earth turning once a day. As I've repeatedly explained, though, since the Equation of Time is due to the difference between the Earth's actual orbit, and a perfect circle in the plane of the Earth's equator, the advance and retreat of the sundial compared to uniform (clock) time is due to the addition of motions - not due to an actual speeding up or slowing down of the Earth's rotation. It may be "empricism" in your view to require a definition of "rotation" that excludes speeding up or slowing down (unless a specific cause, such as seasonal winds exists) from the rotation of so heavy a body of the Earth... but the rights of children are not violated by giving them an understanding of the motions of the Earth that makes those motions clear and simple to understand. Of course, most children in school _are_ instead being told to accept that the Earth rotates in 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds, without being told *why* this is so, and so they are left puzzled as to why the Earth's rotation isn't 24 hours, as would seem to make more sense from the naive point of view. So, while I disagree with you about the truth of the Earth's motions, that the rights of children to an education which leads to understanding - instead of being told to memorize facts on mere authority - _are_ being violated... is something I agree with. Even though my initial reaction to your post was that it was hyperbole... John Savard |

Just because you can't learn, does not give you the right to impose your ignorance on others (including children). |

It is criminal incompetence to maintain any correspondence other than 1461 rotations in 1461 days within the confines of the 4 year system which equates to 4 orbital circuits of the Earth, the fact that the highest arbitration body on the planet ( United Nations) subscribes to empiricism and the ugly right ascension generated 1465 rotations in 1461 days is an assault on human rights as any child should, without hesitation, receive an education based on the facts that the Earth is round, rotating and the correct number of rotations assigned to an orbital circuit through the AM/PM signatures of that rotation. It is shown that 1461 rotations for 4 orbital circuits reduces to 365 1/4 rotations to 1 orbital circuit. Empiricists never get the point, that is a symptom of their indoctrination, but when you cannot correlate daily temperature fluctuations with the rotation of the Earth in a day and 1461 times in 1461 days you have bigger problems than carbon dioxide and global climate. Bad astronomy indeed !,I have found readers to be barely sentient and to think that people would rather live with cringing humiliation than actually alter their views is one of the worst signs of all. |

Presumably this will rapidly follow registration of all users. The end of online anonymity cannot be far off in the Western World. (blamed on security reasons when cyber crime becomes completely intolerable) No doubt countries, where freedom is a rare commodity, will rapidly develop software which will deny _any_ citizen real anonymity. Your days must be numbered. But they won't be factors of 365 or 1541. Nor any other drooling idiocy you might invent for your own amusement. |

John Savard One can only assume that spammers are tolerated for some reason which is not openly expressed by the international security community. Little is allowed on this planet which does not suit the purposes of the "powers that be" in one way or another. A cynic would point to arms sales as the reason for tolerating much that occurs here in the real world. Quite what the profit angle is for tolerating the present "Wild West" nature of massive, online illegal activity is more difficult to identify. There seems to be no real attempt to police online criminal activity directly via ISPs. Therefore, there must be something else driving the present high levels of criminal tolerance. Why is it not made illegal for ISPs to allow users online who have no anti-virus software or a firewall? It would seem harmless enough for the online community to have basic protection. Why was the high level of corruptibility of Winders OS allowed to continue for so long? How could the international community tolerate a monopolistic Achilles heel in such a vital and critical means of global communication and commerce? Is it simply the international "borderless" nature of the www which denies the usual global powers the ability to wield their might? Why is there such an outcry when any nation's politicooze suggest taking a criminal recidivist off-line? It is not as if ordering a pizza online is the only way they can possibly feed themselves. A basic human right? Over a billion human beings have no basic human right to food and shelter! Nobody is dumping free i-Macs and broadband connections on them with their handout bowls of gruel! |

The adjustment to the explanation for the seasons by refocusing
attention on what the polar latitudes are doing in acting like a beacon for the orbital behavior of the Earth is no more difficult than looking at the rotation of the Earth and its separate day and night cycle. The polar coordinates will turn through the circle of illumination at the orbital point of the equinoxes just as the polar coordinates of Uranus did in 2007 - http://www.daviddarling.info/images/...gs_changes.jpg I am truly at a loss for what I could or could not do to make this any clearer in replacing 'tilt' with the more accessible orbital cycle and in view of all the information we have today compared to the era of Copernicus when they would not necessarily have considered what happens at the polar latitudes whereas nowadays people reside there even if for research purposes - http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/obop/spo/livecamera.html Yes it is a basic human right for students to receive the best possible information and education and yes, what happened was a tragedy in the attempt to shift the AM/PM rotational signatures to RA within the confines of 4 years/4 orbital circuits however the continuation of this tragedy is preventable by whatever effort necessary. There is no worse tyranny than slavery whether physical or intellectual and each person owes it to their families, communities ,nation and humanity itself to stop and put basic planetary facts first rather than self- serving ends.If people are continuing to do what they do for fear of their jobs or reputations they need only adjust to a more productive perspective and put past errors behind them. There are some days where only prayer can ease the sense of irritation at normally intelligent people who choose to follow something so cruel that it is almost unspeakable so just accept the 1461 rotations in 1461 days/4 years and get on with improving life for all humans instead of diminishing it. |

Self pitying rubbish. You would like to be the founder of a cult but unfortunately a cult needs followers. Why has nobody been persuaded by your arguments? Because you are wrong! You have dug yourself into a hole and keep digging deeper. You have to deny more and more easily verified science. You keep quoting Galileo's arguments against people like you and don't understand that every quote shows how wrong you are. When you pray try asking your God to give you humility and understanding. Then he may forgive you for trying, in your misplaced pride, to ruin the lives of children by making them misunderstand His creation. |
