Based on what is released to the press in Russia, it seems that many in the Russian military believe that aircraft carriers are obsolete and a waste of resources. The future is in robot armies that are quickly deployed by cruise missiles. After deployment in hot zones the robots fight 24/7 until they're destroyed, and then replaced by new robots. They operate independently or in support of specialised highly effective units.
