What did you do to Mr. Mook? Chase him off?

His writings were speculative and made you think. Even if you
disagreed, you could ignore him rather than resort to name calling.

I often questioned his premises but you got to think about things from
a different point of view.

and so thought he must be 'smart'. People who understood what he was

I registered as a Republican in the 1980's, but since then, the
Republican Party has moved further and further away from its ideals of
the 1980's. As a consequence, I don't vote Republican very often
anymore.
