Detroit didn't learn any of the lessons of 1974, tooled up only for
making SUV's. They are locked into a failed business model which
isn't likely to become profitable again. Bankruptcy might be their
best hope for being allowed to reorganize. Of course the workers and
retirees will be screwed.

Double A Interesting you came up with GM retirees. I was thinking they
should be well taken care of and first. People use to come first.

Very cold this morning at 7am it was 45F,butwarming up fast and will be
74F by 2 pm Thanksgiving will have a high of 75F and like today very
bright and no rain. Been to dry and fires will be hard to put out.
Food lines on tv very long. As a kid I never was in a food line. Ice
box always had milk cereal butter cheese, cold cuts, peanut butter, Never
ran out of ice. Shelves always had cans of soup, tuna, sardines. I eat
lots of potatoes and carrots. These were good times, but they
fluctuated, and then my mother got sick. I am getting depressed. Yes
the great depression inflects much depression, and it lasts all your
life. Bush has orders to give the fat cats 2 trillion in the next 7
weeks he is in office. It will not create JOBS. It will not boost the
sale of GM cars. It will not restore credit for the people the banks
foreclosed on. It will not give a dime to M&M to restore the vacant
homes so families can be safe to live in them. Like Florida USA is now
100% fascist, and trouble makers like me will be rounded up and taken
care of The greatest depression the world has ever known is taking
place as I type. The time is near where the American Godfather is ready
to give out his spiked cool aid,as a final blessing to the poor
families.(4 million so far) TreBert Ps Happy Thanksgiving to Ya All
Like to share my pot roast to ya all

Here there was ice on the footbridge in the park as I settled in for
the night. Dense fog. Later a cold easterly breaze moved in and
cleared the fog. Even though the termperature increased enough to
melt the ice, it still felt colder with the breeze.

Perfect weather! At least you have that much to be thankful for.

And I wish you could share it. I have received no Thanksgiving
invitations in my mail. Trump and Gates must each think the other has
invited me.

Again cold morning 45F be 73F by 2pm Lots of bright Sun No rain and long
turkey lines. Americans as proven in India can not travel out of the
country. Driving in Mexico I had to stay along the shore, and only go
about 50 miles to be safe. India has 150 million Muslins. Very bad when
a Muslin will give up his life to take an American with him. Our
embassies have not been safe for over 35 years Thinking of our army
in Iraq begs this question Bush has children, but how come they are not
serving in the army? Not hard to figure. TreBert

A bleak, cold, and rainy day. Typical Thanksgiving weather. Was able
to sleep some last night inspite of an easterly breeze. I drink a
quart of eggnog to keep my body warm. It would work even better if I
had the rum to put in it!

Thanksgiving dinner? None of my "good Christian" relatives have
invited me. But they are always "praying" for me. A fresh butter
roll sample with butter at Haggens should suffice. And a small bread
slice with spinach dip on it, and another with garlic topping. Food
stamps are running short, and I don't know when they will be renewed.
I hope that all of those who are fortunate enough to be stuffing
themselves with turkey on this Thanksgiving Day will remember that
there are those of us who are going without. Yes, there is hunger in
America, even on Thanksgiving!

Because it is not their father's National Guard. Today's guard sees
action!

Double A Orlando Salvation army gave out 20,000 turkey dinners. This
way the poor will have enough strength to give their blood to the Red
Cross. Salvation Army gives, and the Red Cross takes. Well the Red Cross
has given out AIDS TreBert Ps Does Portland have a Salvation Army?

Cool morning 48F,but will be 74F by 2 pm With a cold rainy front coming
down Sunday I predict it will make things very tricky for the Endeavor
1:30 pm landing. I would have it landing earlier. That storm could
be very severer. Lots of wind and lightning Go figure Trebert

These groups get lots of mileage out of Thanksgiving. One shot of
some bewhiskered guy eating a plate of turkey, which probably costs
them less than $2, is worth millions in donations!

Warmer here though a little wet last night with some drizzle.

I had thought my Thanksgiving Day feasting would be limited to a bag
of potato chips and a few samples. But I ran into a lady who works in
the bakery at Haggen's, and has been nice to me and given me samples
in the past. She asked if I didn't have any house to go to for
Thanksgiving? I said no, and so she said that there was a
Thanksgiving meal being provided in the break room to the employees
that had to work, and that she would bring me a plate! So finally
something that made me feel like it was Thanksgiving! She brought me
the plate to the food court and it had slices of ham, mashed potatoes,
sweet potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream
topping! Also a bottle of Mountain Dew. Well, maybe not exactly like
mother used to cook, but I greatly appreciated the kindness, and
thanked the lady sincerely. So I finally felt some of the spirit of
Thanksgiving.

Oh no! Another dicey landing attempt for the Shuttle!
