I BEAT A GOTO!
On Tue, 2 Sep 2003 10:14:00 -0400, "Stephen Paul"
touched these keys: Then again, the introductory version of TheSky that came with my Tasco Starguide 4 is still my most used astronomy PC application. And, it was free (well, I know that's not entirely true, but from the standpoint of being "included" with the purchase). On a previous thread of SkyTools discussion, I complained about the "other" app that (not necessarily in the same words back then, and with refined details now) all I want is an application that allows me to select an area of a planetarium display, and then list that area's DSO objects to a From a SkyTools user.....Just buy the damn thing. It's worth it! It makes lists of things I can actually see. It won't list things to the north where I have a line of huge pine trees, it won't list anything to the west where the house blocks things. I could go on but I won't. I'm VERY happy with SkyTools. Mark P. rockville md na terra solsys orion arm.... |

I BEAT A GOTO!

I offered some reasonable suggestions (after an initial faux pas which I've already said was due to the lack of info on your web site regarding the actual database size) which you immediately interpreted as offensive for some silly reason. Plus, you can't even seem to get your own story straight as you previously wrote: "The purpose of a guarantee is not so that a few curious people can play with the program and return it, having never meant to buy it in the first place. It is there to protect the purchaser if, for some reason, the product does not live up to what is described at our web site." This certainly implies to me that you will not be happy if I order the product and then return it if I don't like it for some reason that *I* may find important, but *you* may find insignificant. Forgive me, but given your displayed attitude so far I'm hesitant to put my $100 and your "guarantee" to the test. --- Michael McCulloch |

I BEAT A GOTO!

Ditto here. Furthermore, with any new software there's a learning curve that often takes some time before you can decide that the software will work for you. By the way, Greg has mentioned that he's going to put up something on his web site that is more like a test drive. I'm going to reserve judgment on requiring a demo (something that I would generally appreciate) until I see this.
