NASA reschedules Space Shuttle return to flight briefing

Headquarters, Washington Dec. 3, 2004 (Phone: 202/358-4769) Kyle Herring Johnson Space Center, Houston (Phone: 281/483-5111) MEDIA ADVISORY: M04-196 NASA RESCHEDULES SPACE SHUTTLE RETURN TO FLIGHT BRIEFING NASA changed the schedule for the next Space Shuttle Return to Flight briefing. The latest version of "NASA's Implementation Plan for Space Shuttle Return to Flight and Beyond" will be released Monday afternoon, not morning, followed by a news conference. The updated plan will be available Monday at 2 p.m. EST online at: http://www.nasa.gov/returntoflight The news briefing will be live on NASA TV at 4 p.m. EST from NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston. Reporters will be able to ask questions at participating NASA centers. The plan and the media briefing outline NASA's progress in safely returning Space Shuttles to flight. The briefing will focus on progress in Shuttle processing, testing and training. Briefing participants: - Bill Parsons, Space Shuttle program manager - Wayne Hale, deputy Space Shuttle program manager - John Casper, manager, Space Shuttle Management Integration and Planning Video b-roll of NASA's Shuttle Return to Flight activities during the past year will precede the briefing and air on NASA TV at about 3:45 p.m. EST. NASA TV is available via satellite in the continental U.S. on AMC-6, Transponder 9C, C-Band, at 72 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz. In Alaska and Hawaii, NASA TV is available on AMC-7, Transponder 18C, C-Band, at 137 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 4060.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
