"Joann Evans"

I can't see where starting a war with Persia
is high on the Israeli agenda. A no-nuke Iran seems reasonable.

What
the hell has Israel done to **** all these Arab countries off?

Short answer: Exist.

Long answer: Go do some research on Israel's origins and history,

the
politics of the region, and decide for yourself.

This simply begs the original question. Is the Muslim religion unable to
tolerate the existence of Judaism? Is it the loss of a small piece of
land?

who need some war going
on to make their lives interesting.

I agree, only to the extent that I wonder what they'd do next, if
they somehow got what they wanted?

Well yes the thought had ocurred to me. If Palestine were independant
and Israel disappeared, the country would be exposed as a collection of
aimless fools.

Most of us couldn't [blow ourselves up to take out an enemy],
and I don't just mean for ethical/moral reasons, either.

I understand your point, but feel that in the absence of an elocutable
grievance, the bomb suicide becomes an end in itself. Come to think of
it, the worship of suicide is like a death cult, and a case of arrested
development.

The brand practiced by bin Laden et al is. It is, in fact, unable to
tolerate the existence of any religion other than its own.

To the limited degree that it is a country, it already has been.

Sort of a fait accompli d'espace, n'est-pas?

No.

Just because we like space exploration a whole, whole
lot doesn't mean we need to abandon our principles.

You will first have to get them before going for the
abandon bit...

One should look back 25/26 years ago to see who it was that told Iran it
should develop nuclear powered electric generation facilities so its economic
development wouldn't be tied to oil when oil runs out.

Oh, and Brazil just decided to not allow IAEA inspectors to check some
"proprietary" parts of its nuclear programme because they consider those to be
trade secrets and don't want to leak the technology to others.

Does this mean that the USA will be prohibited from selling/buying anything
from Brazil ?

Depends on if teh decide to offer incentives to enough congressmen or not?
