Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA)

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) confirmed the detailed
orbit data of the Optical Inter-orbit Communications Engineering Test
Satellite (OICETS) "Kirari" and the Innovative Technology
Demonstration Experiment Satellite (INDEX) as follows. The satellites
were launched at 6:10 a.m. on August 24, 2005, from the Baikonur
Cosmodrome in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Actual value Scheduled value
Apogee altitude 611.4 km (610.0 km)
Perigee altitude 609.6 km (609.7 km)
Inclination 97.8 degrees (97.8 degrees)
Period 96.9 minutes (96.9 minutes)
The satellite has now shifted to normal control mode, and is operating
smoothly.

[Innovative Technology Demonstration Experiment Satellite (INDEX)]

Perigee altitude 610.0 km (609.0 km)
Inclination 97.8 degrees (97.8 degrees)

The nickname of the INDEX is "Reimei".
