Whenever a more advanced species encounters a less advanced, the former typically will exploit the latter. We've proven this to be the case on Earth. Perhaps interaction with more advanced interstellar species is really a blessing in disguise !

We've proven
this to be the case on Earth.


With cultures/civilisations/ethnicities too.
