Shenzhou 5 sightings
I spotted Shenzhou 5 twice this morning. The first apparition
came at 5:28 MDT, when it was at sixth magnitude and low on the horizon. The second apparition came at 7:01, high and bright as it transited more than half the sky--I would say it was first magnitude, rather than the 3.0 predicted by heavens-above.com (otherwise both passes were *exactly* as H-A predicted; three cheers for the speed with which they made the predictions available!) The booster made a pass at 6:56 AM and was very bright. It appears to be tumbling about once every ten seconds. --Bill Thompson |
