Image stacking software.

I know that it has been talked about in here before, but I am unable to
find reference to it as far back as I have been able to go, or get good
results from a google search, so could someone please recommend descent
image stacking software and the best place to get an adapter for a
digital camera please.

I have a 55mm filter thread that I can use to connect the camera to the
adapter.

Any advice on astro photography would be appreciated.

Registax is what you need, they are now at

or there were several useful programmes on the Sky at Night magazine
CD.

regarding adaptors take a look here

try a philips toucam pro camera (approx £60) + AC378 adapter (£25) , to a
1.25" mount

You'll also see some adaptors for digital cameras etc which is what I assume
you mean by the 55mm thread .
