Mariner IV Mars fly-by 40th anniversary
Looking at some NASA websites, it seems NASA completely ignores one of

Of course, because NASA targeted the "wrong" hemisphere, Mariner IV almost killed all interest and enthusiasm for Mars exploration. It took Mariner 9 to get things back on track. -- Dave Michelson |
