Has there been any verification that Mike has indeed passed on?

After all the anon trolling I'm somewhat catious.

The announcement appeared in REC.SKIING.ALPINE.MODERATED on Aug 8.

It also explains the lack of posts by Mike.

,,,A quick search on google revealed what I believe is Mike's last
usenet post, on rec.skiing.alpine, dated 7/23/03:

....Does anyone happen to know where Mike hailed from, or where he was
living at the time of his passing? An obit might be available online
that can be linked or reposted here.

He lived very close to Boulder Colorado. I looked at the Boulder
paper online (dailycamera.com), but could find nothing. I also
checked news.google.com, and again came up with nothing. I am
keeping an eye out in the ski newsgroups for further info.

Very sorry to hear that. Does anyone know how he died, was it a skiing
accident?

I doubt it, as the last ski area in Colorado to close was A-Basin, on
July 2. IIRC, he was done skiing for the season about two months
before that.

Yes, we verified the information before we posted the note.

Always a wise course.
