I've said this before, but I feel a need to add "if all goes well". -- What have they got to hide? Release the Beagle 2 report. Remove spam and invalid from address to reply. |

When is the next US astronaut going to be launched into space?
In article ,
says... "Doug..." wrote in message ... Reporter: "Mr. President?" JFK: "Yes?" Reporter: "When will America put a man on the Moon?" JFK: "Whenever Senator Goldwater wants to go..." *Dirksen*, and that wasn't the right quote (hilarious album, though) Nope -- I have the album on CD (pulled it down on Napster several years ago), just listened to it again yesterday. The quote above is exact. Dirksen appears in another album cut, in which he and Dean Rusk are trying to advise JFK on a budget expenditure. (LBJ tries to toss in his two cents, saying "I'd like to say something, if I might," and JFK responds "Must you, Lyndon?") At the very end of the cut, JFK says, "Well, Ev, you drive a hahd bahgain, but here's what I'll do --I'll sell you Boardwalk and Park Place with two hotels on it..." More apropos to these newshroups, however, was a cut entitled "Astronauts." It has Jim Webb overseeing a briefing of Gordo Cooper, with all of the other astronauts giving "Coop" the benefit of their experience. Including Carpenter telling him once he hits the water, he should just settle in, relax, and wait for someone to pick him up. Cooper admits to being scared, but says "you guys all went through it, so I guess I can." At which point, Webb says, "All right! Now, go down to the dock and put on your water skis, Jackie's waiting!" Doug |
