The Heisenberg uncertainty principle "In other words, the more precisely one property is measured, the less precisely the other can be controlled, determined, or known." When classical behavior and quantum behavior are entangled, or constantly transitioning back and forth as in the duality of light, or a cloud. Then another way of picturing that is when a solid finds itself within a void. It changes states to expand into the vacuum. Such as water suddenly changing into a vapor with a cloud. Or energy changing state into matter when allowed to expand. The duality and light is just another way to describe the process of changing state. The physical universe is created when changing state from order to disorder. A smooth soup of energy chaotically expanding into the vacuum, changing into matter. Order and life are created when the process of changing state becomes cyclic, continually changing states between order and disorder. s |

"Sylvia Else" wrote in message ... After all, QM doesn't just describe photons. It also describes pairs of coins. That's a good point, I think the daunting scales it's normally used for makes it hard to intuitively picture the underlying relationships. My hobby of Complexity Science is great for placing any system in totally abstract form, so it becomes easy to see the same relationships in numerous examples spanning the disciplines. For picturing the duality of light, or what 'entanglement' means, the best example is a cloud. The critical balance between condensation and evaporation produces a system where the two opposing forms are chaotically jumping back and forth. A continuous sequence of step changes. The abstract opposing forms are called 'static' for behavior which is simple, fixed or little changing as with a solid, or a deterministic equation. And 'chaotic' for behavior like a gas where statistical methods work better. The Static attractor could be behavior like a solid, a fixed rule or classical behavior While the chaotic attractor could be a gas, a tendency or quantum behavior. So static represents matter, and chaotic would represent energy. When the two are entangled a third realm of behavior emerges, called dynamic. Static Dynamic Chaotic solid liquid gas condensation cloud evaporation matter light energy All that is important is created by the 'entanglement' of classical and quantum behavior. As in the paradigms below. solid liquid gas subcritical critical supercritcal gravity space-time cosmic expansion rule of law democracy freedom genetics natural selection mutation facts ideas imagination science arts philosophy Truth Beauty Love And one more abstraction. This universal duality also exists in the relationship between the objective and subjective realms. Below is one of our most basic assumptions of all, published in 1927, it has a glaring flaw which needs a solution. The Heisenberg uncertainty principle "In other words, the more precisely one property is measured, the less precisely the other can be controlled, determined, or known." The uncertainty principle, it's basic flaw and solution was clearly given below, some ...fifty years earlier. "PERCEPTION of an Object costs Precise the Object's loss. Perception in itself a gain Replying to its price; The Object Absolute is nought, Perception sets it fair, And then upbraids a Perfectness That situates so far." By E Dickinson (1830-1886) And maybe even more shocking is she said all that in fifty words or less. And it even sounds nice rolling off the tongue. A level of wisdom and writing which is hard to equal. Which is to say that we can no more grasp the true nature of our existence by looking at only matter OR energy. But only when both are entangled. Only when both objective and subjective methods are...entangled can nature and reality be fully understood. We require a science that can as easily deal with the objective half of reality, as the subjective half. A single mathematics that can properly answer physical and philosophical questions with the same validity. It's here... Calresco Themes (*in essay form) http://calresco.org/themes.htm Self-Organizing Faq http://calresco.org/sos/sosfaq.htm Dynamics of Complex Systems (full online textbook) http://www.necsi.org/publications/dcs/ Steinhardt Director, Princeton Center for Theoretical Physics http://wwwphy.princeton.edu/~steinh/...cosmology.html Of course, when it comes to the science of self-organizing systems, Dickinson was also there first. How the opposing forces of the static and chaotic spontaneously organizes and evolve towards the ideal solution following inverse-square law behavior. Like she says, 'gravitates within'. "Growth of Man like Growth of Nature Gravitates within Atmosphere, and Sun endorse it Bit it stir alone Each its difficult Ideal Must achieve Itself Through the solitary prowess Of a Silent Life Effort is the sole condition Patience of Itself Patience of opposing forces And intact Belief Looking on is the Department Of its Audience But Transaction is assisted By no Countenance." Can I deduce that the wave function is not real just because pairs of coins sometimes fall heads-tails? The wave vanishes once you see one side, or the other. The wave only exists when it's not possible to determine which is which. As in a cloud. When both opposites are chaotically transitioning back and forth between each other. But let's continue placing the duality of light in abstract terms and see what else it describes. The entanglement of classical and quantum motion is another way of describing a system comprised of change which is too slow, combined with change which is too fast, static and chaotic. Or, short range order combined with long range disorder. Particle and a wave. A fluid is where the molecules drag each other along for a short period, then quickly becoming disordered. Gravity is strong nearby, but quickly diminishes with distance. The duality of light, gravity, fluids, and natural selection are consequences of inverse-square law behavior. Fluid behavior, is the ultimate source of light, space-time and ...life. Jonathan Sylvia. |
