Default Phoenix hop hop?

I wonder what the cost and weight penalty would be if
the Phoenix had a capacity to do two controlled hops
in any direction? ??

At least one Surveyor lunar lander did such a post-landing
hop. In this case, I believe Phoenix's propulsion system
has been permanently shut down, but in principle it seems
doable.

Yes, they vented the helium immediately after landing. No engine
startup possible now.
