Juno Probe Launched From Cape Canaveral:
"NASA’s Juno probe lifted off aboard an Atlas V rocket from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., at 12:25 p.m. EDT today, kicking off a five-year trek to Jupiter. The rocket, flying in the 551 vehicle configuration with a five-meter fairing, five solid-rocket boosters and a single- engine Centaur upper stage, will propel Juno out as far as the orbit of Mars before the spacecraft cycles back around the Sun for a flyby of Earth in October 2013 and a gravitational boost to Jupiter."
