Default Next Generation Apollo

I read a while back that the actual cost of each individual Apollo mission,
in today's currency, would be 2.25 billion dollars. The cost of each
shuttle was, in today's currency 3 billion dollars and that the current
shuttle budget is 3 billion dollars per year direct funding and an
additional 1 billion dollars goes to United Space Alliance and other support
systems.

Is this true?

Seems a bit high, but a billion wouldn't be surprising.

Hard to say, but $2bn is more like the correct figure as I understadn
it.

The simple summary line "Space Shuttle" totals some $3,968m; I couldn't
say how much of that goes on contractor costs without digging. There's
another $434m which isn't classed as Shuttle or Station costs.

If thats per year its near 4.5 billion per year. Nowadd on another half billion
to pay for safety upgrades/

Thats now about 5 billion a year for all shuttle costs or about one billion per
flight if we fly 5 per year.

It's true that NASA spent dollars and went to the moon, and they spend
dollars and fly the STS from time to time.
