Default Real Amateur Astronomy

Most groups that start off as 100% moderated quickly change to
something more manageable. The number of 100% moderated group that I
have had dealings with that worked smoothly for more than a few weeks
is exactly ZERO.

I don't believe you. Check out e.g. sci.astro.research for one
counter-example.....

These groups are probably few, but I'm convinced that their number is
bigger than "exactly zero"....
