NASA ANNOUNCES ACCREDITATION DEADLINE FOR NEXT SHUTTLE FLIGHT

News media planning to cover NASA's next space shuttle mission must
apply for Kennedy Space Center credentials by June 1. U.S. and
international journalists may submit accreditation requests online
at:

https://media.ksc.nasa.gov/

NASA is targeting July for Space Shuttle Discovery's mission, STS-121,
to the International Space Station. Accredited media will have access
to the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test, launch, mission and
landing. The demonstration test is a countdown dress rehearsal
scheduled for the week of June 12. Media should apply as soon as
possible to reduce processing time.

Media must use work, not personal, e-mail addresses when applying.
Once accreditation is approved, media will receive a confirmation
e-mail. Badges may be picked up beginning June 12. Kennedy
credentials will be honored at NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston,
and NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base,
Calif., for STS-121. Dryden is a backup shuttle landing site.
Credentials will be honored until three days after Discovery lands.

Media with special logistical requests, such as space for production
or administration trailers, electrical connections or work stations
in the newsroom, must contact Laurel Lichtenberger at:
by June 1. Work stations are provided
on a first-come basis.

To set up temporary telephone, fax, ISDN or network lines, media must
contact Bell South at: (800) 213-4988. Media must have an assigned
seat in the Kennedy newsroom prior to setting up lines. Media are
required to have a public affairs escort to any Kennedy area except
the Launch Complex 39 cafeteria. For information about the STS-121
mission or crew, visit:
